Our goal has always been simple…
…to produce the kind of Groodles that allow other families to experience what we experienced with George.
A dog that becomes so much more than just a pet. A constant presence in everyday family life, whether that’s beach mornings, café runs, kids sport on weekends or curled up beside the family at the end of the day.
We believe the Groodle has the potential to be one of the finest family companions there is when bred with enough intention, experience and care behind every generation. Our focus has always been on producing multigenerational Groodles that are a true reflection of everything the breed should be. Stable, intelligent, affectionate and deeply human focused dogs with beautiful temperaments, strong structure and the signature teddy bear look families know and love.
While Groodles are technically a hybrid breed, generations of careful multigenerational breeding allows for a far greater level of consistency, predictability and refinement across temperament, coat, structure and overall quality. We’ve poured our heart and soul into improving the breed with every generation, with temperament always at the centre of everything we do.
Every pairing within our program is carefully selected with the long term future of the breed in mind, with the goal of producing Groodles that are not only beautiful, but genuinely exceptional companions in every sense of the word.

If you've been researching Groodles, you've probably noticed that most breeders classify their puppies as Miniature, Medium or Standard. These recognised industry size categories are a helpful way of understanding the broad range of Groodle sizes, and they're widely used by breeders around the world, including by organisations such as the Goldendoodle Association of North America (GANA).
Our breeding program has simply developed over time in a way that doesn't always fit neatly within those traditional labels.
Over many generations, our dogs have consistently matured within the natural overlap between the larger end of the Medium category and the smaller end of the Standard category. Rather than setting out to breed dogs that fit neatly into one label or another, we've simply continued refining the size that our families have loved most. Today, we affectionately call it our Signature Size.
While every puppy is unique and no breeder can ever guarantee an exact adult size, our Groodles generally mature within the following ranges:
Females: Approximately 18–23kg
Males: Approximately 20–28kg
Depending on their individual height and build, our dogs may be described under recognised sizing guides as either larger Mediums or smaller Standards. We see this as the sweet spot—and after many years of breeding, we wouldn't have it any other way.
This wasn't something we decided overnight. As our puppies grew up and families shared updates over the years, a clear pattern emerged. Time and again, they told us how much they loved having a dog that felt substantial enough for adventures, yet remained practical for everyday family life. As we retained future breeding dogs, we naturally selected for these qualities, and over many generations our bloodlines became increasingly consistent until we arrived at the Signature Size we're so proud to produce today.
For us, it's the perfect balance. A dog that's athletic enough to join you on hikes, beach walks, camping trips and family adventures, yet still compact enough to curl up on the couch, sleep at the end of the bed, travel comfortably in the car and fit effortlessly into everyday family life.
One of the greatest advantages of a carefully developed multigenerational breeding program is the consistency it creates across generations. While every litter is slightly different, the size, structure and generations behind each mum and dad allow us to provide families with a good indication of whether their puppy is likely to mature towards the lower, middle or upper end of our Signature Size range.
Our Groodles also typically inherit a longer-legged, athletic frame, resulting in a beautifully balanced dog that's agile, proportionate and easy to live with, while still feeling like a solid, capable family companion.
While we certainly understand the appeal of very small Mini Groodles, our focus has never been on breeding to achieve the smallest possible dog. Instead, we've remained committed to refining what we believe is the ideal all-round family companion—a Groodle whose size has been shaped by generations of thoughtful breeding, careful selection and the invaluable feedback of the hundreds of families who have welcomed one of our puppies into their homes.
Why Multigenerational Matters
One of the biggest differences within the Groodle breed comes down to generations. While terms like F1, F1B and Multigenerational can sound a little confusing, they actually tell you a lot about how predictable a puppy is likely to be as it grows.
Chances are you’ve probably seen an F1 Groodle before. They’re often the larger, shaggy Groodles with big, fluffy Retriever-like coats that made so many people fall in love with the breed in the first place. An F1 Groodle is a direct Golden Retriever × Poodle cross, and while they can be absolutely beautiful dogs, they can also be quite unpredictable.
Because they’re the first hybrid cross, puppies within the same litter can mature very differently. Some may inherit a thick Retriever-style coat with minimal furnishings, while others may have a finer Poodle frame with a curlier coat. Some may grow into a compact medium-sized dog, while others can end up much larger than expected. Coat type, shedding, structure and even certain temperament traits can vary considerably from puppy to puppy.
As multigenerational breeders, we’ve spent years carefully breeding Groodle to Groodle, selecting each generation for health, temperament, coat quality and overall consistency. Over time, this careful selection allows our bloodlines to become increasingly consistent and predictable.
What does that mean for our forever families?
It means we can give you a much clearer idea of what your puppy is likely to look like and be like as an adult. Adult size is more predictable. Coat types are more consistent. Furnishings are well established. Low-shedding coats become more reliable. Temperaments become increasingly consistent from one generation to the next.
While no breeder can guarantee every trait, careful multigenerational selection allows us to make far more informed predictions than would generally be possible with a first-generation cross.
We fell in love with Groodles for the same reasons most families do. Multigenerational breeding simply allows us to produce puppies that are more consistent in the traits people are looking for when they choose the breed.
They Stay Puppy-Like for Longer
One of the things families love most about Groodles is that they tend to keep their fun, goofy personalities well beyond the puppy stage. They really are big kids at heart! While that's part of their charm, it also means they continue to benefit from ongoing training, boundaries and plenty of things to keep them busy as they mature.
They're Clever Dogs
Groodles are incredibly intelligent and love learning. They pick things up quickly, which makes them a joy to train, but it also means they need regular mental stimulation. Short training sessions, enrichment games and learning new skills all help keep their clever minds happy.
They Have High Exercise Needs
Groodles are a high-energy breed and need regular daily exercise to thrive. They aren't a breed that's happy spending most of the day lying around the house. Along with daily walks, they benefit from play, training, enrichment and opportunities to burn both physical and mental energy. If their exercise needs aren't met, they're far more likely to become bored and develop unwanted behaviours. A well-exercised Groodle is a happy, settled and well-balanced companion.
They Love Being With Their People
One of the things that makes Groodles such incredible family dogs is how devoted they are to their people. They genuinely love being involved in everyday life and form very strong bonds with their families. Because of this, it's important from a young age to teach them that spending short periods of time on their own is perfectly okay. Gradually building their confidence and independence helps reduce the likelihood of separation anxiety and encourages a well-rounded, confident adult dog.
Positive Training Works Best
Groodles are very people-focused and genuinely want to please their families. They respond beautifully to calm, consistent, reward-based training and lots of encouragement. Harsh corrections generally aren't needed and can knock their confidence, so we always recommend keeping training positive and fun.
They're Incredibly Versatile
Thanks to their intelligence, affectionate nature and willingness to learn, many Groodles go on to become therapy dogs, assistance dogs, scent detection dogs and even compete in agility or obedience. Most simply become much-loved family companions, but it's a wonderful example of just how capable this breed can be.
